“The measure was premature, we have not yet come out of COVID, we are going to continue with the decree of peak and plate, but for the moment we are going to suspend Fridays of the day without a motorcycle”, with these words Mayor William Dau has announced that he will modify Decree 1198 of October 1, 2020 that temporarily restricts the circulation of motorcycles every Friday of each month until the end of the year.
The president explained that restriction will apply on the third Friday of October, while a final solution is sought that will apply until the end of the year.
“As a sign that I do listen to people, and I have heard many comments that I consider valid regarding the measure we had taken to establish every Friday without a motorcycle from now until the end of the year, we have reevaluated the measure,” said Dau.
The mayor acknowledged that the complaints from the motorcycle taxi union and also from citizens who use this means of transport to go to their places of work.
“We will continue with the measurement of the peak and plate for cars and motorcycles, but for the moment we are going to suspend Fridays without motorcycles. We are going to choose only the third Friday of this month to do it without a motorcycle and it will be a pilot to evaluate statistics, citizen behavior and others and eventually we could return to two days or 4 days, that will depend on this analysis where we will take all the factors into account ” added.
The month of October there will be a single day without a motorcycle which will be the third Friday of the month, this measure runs until October 31, and as of November 1 this measure will be re-evaluated to see what decision will be made later.
The new decree is expected to be issued before Friday.
