Massacre in La Plata, Huila: three people from the same family were killed

The department’s police confirmed the murder of three members of the same family that occurred on the night of Good Friday. According to Indepaz, this is the 24th massacre so far in 2021.

The commander of the Huila Police Department, Colonel Harold Mauricio Barrera Gantiva, confirmed the massacre of three people in the village of La Esmeralda, a rural area of ​​the municipality of La Plata. “There four subjects with firearms and on a motorcycle arrived in the area and killed the victims, ”said the officer.

According to Indepaz, the victims are Luis Eliber Quintero Trujillo, 54, Ricardo Quintero Quintero, 32, and Luis Eliber Quintero Quintero, 29. The victims are farmers who were killed with firearms. Judicial police officers have already made their way to the area.

Colonel Barrera Gantiva announced the holding of a security council in the area, with the presence of the mayor of La Plata and the commander of the Fifth Division of the Army, General Ramiro Alberto Riveros, after the event occurred.

According to La Nación, a local newspaper, the victims are a father and two children who would have annotations for crimes of manufacturing, trafficking and carrying firearms and threats. According to Indepaz, this is the 24th massacre that has occurred so far in 2021. In the area there is a presence of the dissidence called “Second Marquetalia” and of the Western Coordinating Command through the Dagoberto Ramos structure.
