Massacre in Antioquia: seven coffee pickers murdered in Betania – Medellín – Colombia

Another violent event has Antioquia shocked. In the early hours of this Sunday, a new massacre was presented in Bethany, municipality in the Southwest of Antioquia, where seven coffee pickers were murdered on a farm.

In the incident, which occurred on a farm in the La Julia village, 5 kilometers from the urban center of the municipality, three more people were injured, who had to be transferred to Medellín.

An extraordinary Security Council will be held in the municipality, as confirmed by the authorities. Colonel Jorge Cabra, commander of the Antioquia Police, is already at the site, who had to cancel a press conference that was scheduled for this Sunday morning on Bajo Cauca.

Defense Minister Carlos Holmes Trujillo is also expected to attend.

“Given information about a violent event in Betania, Antioquia, Army troops carry out military operations in the area to protect the population. Police and Prosecutor’s Office are investigating the events,” confirmed Major General Juan Carlos Ramírez Trujillo, Commander of the Seventh Army Division.

Massacre in Algeria

On the other hand, on the night of this Saturday, November 21, in the El Mango district, in Argelia, Cauca, five people were killed when they were in a disco.

The municipal authorities hold a security council on the case that shocks this population.
