María Jimena Duzán denounces harassment against her by the column ‘Uribe, the fascist’

She is one of the most famous journalists in the country and that means that everything that is said is talked about. María Jimena Duzán does not go with half measures and in one of her last columns in Semana magazine, entitled ‘Uribe, the fascist’, makes a very incisive criticism of the former president, today deprived of liberty.

“Who would believe it: the one that is mounting this takeover of our democracy is not the Farc, which in good time disarmed; nor Gustavo Petro’s bogeyman, with whom the cave has scared us so much. Who is leading us to that debacle is the former president Álvaro Uribe himself and his fascist ramblings “, Duzán says in a fragment of the column against Uribe.

However, after the success of it, Duzán received not only praise but also criticism on social media. They, on the part of a sector of society, turned into violence, harassment and, as she describes it, a “smear campaign.”

“What I said in my column it is happening to me firsthand. A smear campaign has been unleashed against me on the networks to show that I am a danger to society “, assured the journalist who asks FLIP (Foundation for Press Freedom) for help to be protected.

Although she never reveals it, these attacks come from defenders of former President Uribe, the so-called Uribistas. Likewise, Jimena Duzán received the support of famous journalists such as Félix de Bedout, whom she thanked.

For its part, Semana magazine rejected the harassment and discredit of the journalist in recent hours.
