Journalist María Jimena Duzán and former prosecutor Néstor Humberto Martínez had a tense discussion during an interview that the journalist did with the former prosecutor on November 30 in La W.
The interview progressed and Martínez’s reproaches against the journalist were immediate. One of them was when the ex-prosecutor made note of his annoyance at the journalistic investigations that Duzán has carried out against him, but it was at the end of the interview that the real “grab” appeared.

It all started when the journalist asked her about the illegal interceptions that had been made by the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation to former negotiators of the peace process.
A case that Daniel Coronel and María Jimena Duzán made known in 2019 in the magazine Semana and whose investigations presented two testimonies that CTI officials presented to the Prosecutor’s Office.
The witnesses are currently in prison for carrying out “jabs”, presumably following the orders of former prosecutor Martínez, who did not like at all that these facts were mentioned during the interview.
“María Jimena, you have hurt me a lot in my honor, and let me tell you that you took testimonies from two guys who are in jail for having illegally kicked the Avianca union […] there were illegal shots, and those gentlemen to join the JEP said that I illegally shot a few people, including the commissioners and peace facilitators “Martinez noted.
After saying this, the former prosecutor took the floor again to point out that an investigation carried out by the Prosecutor’s Office found that “The only one who had been hit was Álvaro Leyva Durán, in 2013,” and he assured that by then he was still not in office.
“María Jimena, you cannot be blind or deaf […] Based on that (the chuzada), you come to claim that I had an illegal interception factory “the former prosecutor attacked.
Then, the journalist replied that she collaborated in the exposition of the facts highlighting their importance:
“No, I didn’t do that, that’s not true. What I did was refer to a document that they signed, and that the JEP and the Prosecutor’s Office have. And it seemed important to remove it “.
Martínez responded by saying that “those two criminals (those who point it out) are being criminally prosecuted” for the accusations, that is why he asked Duzán to keep that fact in mind “so that he honors the truth and reality, because with the honor of a citizen who wanted to serve Colombia, cannot continue to gravitate ”.
“I respect the things he says, but when you are a public figure you have to get that information“Duzán replied.
Martínez ended his appearance on La W, stating that he had proposed a “face to face with Julio (Sánchez Cristo)” because he believes that Duzán has an “obsession” with him for mentioning him in his columns and now also in the radio medium.
“I hope to continue doing my job, which Dr. Néstor Humberto does not like”, Duzán assured, at the same time that he referred to the statements of the former prosecutor saying that They “intimidate other journalists” who are looking for the truth in the case of the entrapment of former guerrilla chief ‘Jesús Santrich’.
La Flip referred to the former prosecutor’s statements saying that they stigmatize:
During the interview with La W, the former prosecutor referred to doubts about the case that ended with the capture of ‘Santrich’ for drug trafficking.
“The United States was never asked to collaborate in monitoring the five kilos of coca”Martinez said on the station.
On the other hand, he assured that the investigations focused on Marlon Marín Marín, nephew of aliases Ivan MarquezWho would be in charge of pointing out those involved.
“The first time these investigations refer to someone other than Marín y Gómez and referenced to a blind man is October 28, 2017. On the first of November, Marlon Marín asks for a ‘trichi’ phone meeting ”, assured the former prosecutor.
