Malambo and Puerto decree curfew for Christmas

The Mayor’s Offices of Malambo and Puerto Colombia announced a curfew for the Christmas celebration to prevent further infections of Coronavirus.

Through decree No. 288 of 2020, the mayor of Malambo, Rumenigge Monsalve, explained that the measure will be in force from 11:00 pm to 6:00 am, from December 24 to 26, 2020, as agreed with the municipalities of the Metropolitan Area of ​​Barranquilla, after a virtual security meeting.

“We are going to articulate with the entire Army, Air Force, Navy and National Police strategic points to exercise control and not allow the crowding of people during these days,” said the president.

According to the decree, events of a public or private nature that involve an agglomeration of people may not be held, in accordance with the provisions and protocols issued by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection.

The consumption of intoxicating beverages will not be allowed in public spaces and commercial establishments. The sale of intoxicating beverages is not prohibited.

The curfew is exempt for people who provide home delivery in pharmacies, restaurants, stores, chain stores, barns and bakeries.

Also for drivers of medical emergency vehicles and those destined to the home care of patients as long as they have full identification of the service provider institution to which they belong.

People who practice the profession of the press, people linked to legally recognized private security and guard companies.

In the case of private vehicles, they can circulate as long as it is an emergency case demonstrated to the authorities.

In Puerto Colombia. In the municipality, in addition to the curfew from December 24 to 26 from 11:00 pm to 6:00 am, Mayor Wilman Vargas decreed a dry law in public spaces.

In the municipality there will also be a restriction for the mobilization of motorcycles from December 24 at 11:00 pm until 5:00 am the next day.

The Secretary of Government of Puerto Colombia, Leonel Morón, warned that whoever is caught not complying with the measures will be transferred to the UCJ and will be sentenced for violation of the decree.

For its part, the Municipal Transit Secretariat explained that the penalty for the person who is caught moving by motorcycle at the times indicated in the aforementioned decree will be penalized with a fine worth $ 424,000 and five days of immobilization of the vehicle.

The authorities of both Puerto Colombia and Malambo recalled that the use, commercialization and transportation and use of gunpowder is prohibited, in order to avoid cases of burned or intoxicated minors.
