Chile will not be able to summon two of its best players for the first dates of the South American Qualifiers. These are the seasoned goalkeeper and captain, Claudio Bravo, and branded midfielder Erick Pulgar.
The goalkeeper suffered a sprain to the medial ligament of his left knee last week that will incapacitate him for a few more weeks, while Pulgar was infected with coronavirus and was ruled out for the call because he has not fully recovered.
Those are two representative casualties for the team led by the Colombian Reinaldo Rueda, that last year they defeated the national team, on penalties, in the quarterfinals of the Copa América 2019. The ‘australes’ will make their debut in qualifying for the Qatar 2022 World Cup against Uruguay and then they will face Colombia as locals.
When does Colombia play against Chile in Qualifiers?
The two teams will play in Santiago next Tuesday, October 13, starting at 7:30 pm Colombian time and without an audience in the Chilean stadium, as in the rest of the stages that will host the tournament matches.
Colombia will debut on Friday, October 9 against Venezuela, in a match that will begin at 6:30 pm at the Metropolitan Stadium in Barranquilla.
