Liga BetPlay: the good, the bad and the ugly of date 16 | Colombian Soccer | Betplay League

[ad_1]

There are three days left to meet the eight teams classified to the final phase of the BetPlay League 2021-I and only three points separate the leader of the table, Atlético Nacional (28 points), with the ninth of the classification, Independiente Medellín (25 points).

With the fall of the purslane team in Ibagué, the key victory of América de Cali in Pascual Guerrero and the respite that Deportivo Cali took against Equidad, date 16 of the Colombian championship was ended, which is tighter than never and promises many emotions in the end of the all against all. Here at FUTBOLRED we analyze the good, the bad and the ugly that this new date of the FPC left.

The good

Sports Tolima: the team led by Hernán Torres once again demonstrated its power at home and with a resounding 2-1 defeated Atlético Nacional again. The Pijaos equaled the purslane in points (28) and are second for the goal difference. The paternity of the vinotinto on the green square of Antioquia continues.

America from Cali: The scarlet box got into the fight for the classification in the final stretch of the championship and after defeating Millonarios 2-1 at the Pascual Guerrero, those of Juan Cruz Real reached 25 points reaching the eighth position of the table. The hierarchy of the two-time champion was vital in this classic of Colombian football.

Junior: Amaranto Perea continues to show that he has tools, from the strategy point of view, to lead Junior to contest the championship. With the 0-2 victory over Jaguares, the Barranquilleros climbed to fourth position in the table with 27 points. Special mention to Sebastián Viera, who once again scored a goal from a free kick.

Deportivo Cali: After a difficult week due to the acts of violence against Deportivo Cali, Alfredo Arias breathed calmly again and with a win he made it clear that his team is ready to contest the championship. The sugar producers defeated La Equidad 2-5 and were third in the championship with the same 28 points as the leader, Atlético Nacional.

Boyacá Chicó: The chess team escapes the issue of relegation and with the 2-0 victory against Alianza Petrolera, they took advantage in the table (106 points) and left Deportivo Pereira (104 points) as the last in this classification. Remember that due to the events of the past year, only one team will go down to the second category.

The bad

National Athletic: The purslane team fell, for the umpteenth time, to Deportes Tolima (2-1) in the Colombian league. The performance of Alexandre Guimarães’ side was not good and he missed a great opportunity to increase the point difference in the table and be close to an early classification.

Millionaires: The ambassador team was 10 minutes away from proclaiming itself as the new leader of the BetPlay League, however, the lack of hierarchy and planning prevented the Blues from staying with the victory at Pascual Guerrero and saw how América de Cali, in the last minutes of the game, he tied and turned the score (2-1). The worrying thing about the case is that it is not the first time it has happened, because against Atlético Nacional, in El Campín, the same thing happened. Alberto Gamero has many things to correct.

Equity: One of the disappointments of the date was the performance of La Equidad. Alexis García’s team was beaten 2-5 at home against Cali, in a very weak game from the collective, which could remain in a draw (2-2), but in the last minutes of the game the defensive weaknesses were noticed and ended up losing the points in a surprising way.

Santa Fe: The cardinal team lost the opportunity to stay with the top of the League, after drawing 1-1 against Deportivo Pereira in El Campín. Those of Harold Rivera did not have a good game and rescued the point in the last minutes of the match.

The ugly

Arbitration decisions: Referee failures have become a habit in the BetPlay League. In the match between pijaos and purslane, referee Carlos Betancur forgave Michael Chacón (Atlético Nacional) and John Narváez (Deportes Tolima) for the red, after committing infractions that deserved expulsion. The serious thing about the case is that there was VAR in the party and it was not used to review the attacks.

WHERE: The operation of the VAR continues to generate controversy due to the failures of the technology in the middle of the matches. This time it happened in the duel between Equidad vs Deportivo Cali. Fortunately for the referee and the teams, the problem was short-lived and did not affect the development of the game.

Acts of violence: During the week, Deportivo Cali was, once again, the victim of acts of violence by the brave bars of the sugar group. In addition, there was also a confrontation between fans of América de Cali and Millonarios in the previous match that was played at Pascual Guerrero. Regrettable!
