“It is a bittersweet day for Colombian football. We want to inform the country that all instances of the code of procedure have been complied with, based on Decree Law 1228 of 1995 through the Directorate of Inspection, Surveillance and Control, we have supplied the entire process with Cúcuta Deportivo for the non-payment of labor debts for the non-payment of many of its parafiscals and on that basis what we have said is that whoever does not comply with the rights of the players will be penalized, “said Lucena.
He added: “We inform the country that Cúcuta has been notified with the suspension of sports recognition from the notification of this ruling and there will be a fine for its president Augusto Cadena.”
Lucena was accompanied by Viviana Forero, director of Inspection, Surveillance and Control, and Rodrigo Suárez, head of the legal office.
“The arguments presented by those affected are not accepted. Cúcuta, like its president, committed acts that are subject to sanction and that is why the Minister confirms the ruling because there was no room to revoke the decisions. Consequently, the sanctions remain in force. sign once it is notified and the procedures are completed. The notification and summons have already been sent to the president for the corresponding notification, “said Dr. Suárez.

Lucena added that the decision remains firm from the notification to President Cadena, which would be this Thursday, and then a copy is sent to the Federation and Dimayor.
“We are in the notification process that must be completely. You can play because we are in that process, when we finish it, the next day it is final and that will be when the suspension and the fine meet all the stages,” said Dr. Viviana.
The suspension of recognition affects the male and female team. And Conmebol will be notified, since Cúcuta will not be able to participate in international tournaments either.
To regain recognition, Lucena explained that it will be with the payment of the debts that the sanction will end.
Cúcuta has a second investigation that could lead to the definitive loss of sports recognition, due to recidivism in breach of labor claims.
“We hope they catch up with their players. It is not an easy situation economically, that is why the protection of labor rights is fundamental. We hope that beyond the fact that Cúcuta cannot play, we need the players to be fulfilled”, Lucena said.
The ministry declined to give details about other clubs. However, he clarified that with Deportivo Pasto he was acquitted of the charges and there is no penalty.
Cúcuta is also in the process of reorganization before the Superintendency of Companies.
