The second leg of the quarterfinals of the 2020 Betplay League, between Deportes Tolima and Atlético Junior, is the bone of contention between the clubs and Dimayor.
Dimayor’s decision to reschedule the November 29 game at the Techo stadium in Bogotá produced a harsh statement from the Barranquilla club, which would consider not playing the game alleging an unjustified and unfavorable change in conditions.
This reaction has had a weighty argument in recent hours: the Ibagué Sports Institute would have sent a timely statement to the sports management of the pijao club informing that the remodeling works of the Murillo Toro stadium were not an impediment to playing the aforementioned game .
“The area of the substitutes and visitors bench as well as the playing field are not being intervened by the work in question,” says the document.
This administration, as the owner of the stage, is in total disposition to provide the necessary provisional adaptations (dressing rooms and portable toilets) thus offering all the guarantees for our Tolima Sports to play at home, “he adds.
Journalists in Barranquilla have echoed this information and are wondering, obviously, why Deportes Tolima insists on the change of venue if the game, in any case, will be behind closed doors.
THE MUNICIPAL INSTITUTE OF RECREATION AND SPORTS OF IBAGUÉ SAYS THAT THE JUNIOR PARTY vs. TOLIMA … YES YOU CAN PLAY AT THE MURILLO TORO STADIUM! … FOR YOUR INFORMATION MR. FERNANDO JARAMILLO PRESIDENT OF THE @DIMAYOR… SO EASY THAT IT WAS TO FIND OUT … RIGHT? TO WORK! pic.twitter.com/lcrjw9Y2wE

However, in the last hours a new statement from the Sports Institute was known, with a different trade number, apparently after the one that was cited at first.
The new text contradicts the version and ensures that it cannot be played because the works touch the dressing rooms, which are necessary by sanitary protocol, and also access to the playing field.
Ibagué cannot delay the start or the development of the works as it has until December 31 to deliver the finished project if it wants to host the South American Sub 20.
“It is impossible to carry out the match for November 29 between Junior de Barranquilla and Deportes Tolima,” says the text, which appreciates the understanding of the protagonists.
The works, as can be seen, are not cosmetic but rather touch a large part of the stage, as reported by journalist Guillermo González from Ibagué.
Dimayor, who made the decision to change, has not spoken but in his official schedule the match is still scheduled at the Techo stadium.
