With the 1-1 equality between Jaguares de Córdoba and Independiente Santa Fe, matchday 13 of the BetPlay League ended, leaving Deportes Tolima as the sole leader of the competition.
The pijao team beat Cúcuta Deportivo 0-3 in their visit to Armenia, Nacional and Junior starred in a great game that ended tied 2-2 at Atanasio Girardot, Millonarios does not raise their head in the league and returned to add one by one in condition of local, while America won, liked and thrashed in the Pascual Guerreo.
Here at FUTBOLRED we review the good, the bad and the ugly that a new day of Colombian professional football left behind:
The good:
Deportes Tolima continues its good run in the championship and after beating Cúcuta Deportivo as a visitor, it was confirmed as the great leader of the competition with 27 units.
Deportivo Pasto remains in second position in the general table, being one of the ‘revelation’ teams of the tournament. The volcanic team drew 1-1 with Deportivo Cali of Alfredo Arias, who still did not know defeat in the competition. Cali, along with Tolima, are the only undefeated teams in the League.
América de Cali won at home, Juan Cruz Real’s team, showing a good game, beat Patriotas de Boyacá 3-0, which is still at the bottom of the table.
La Equidad won again and at the Estadio de Techo defeated Once Caldas with a category 2-0 and entered the group of eight.
Atlético Bucaramanga struck, and on their visit to Barrancabermeja they defeated Alianza Petrolera 1-2.
Boyacá Chicó achieved his third victory in the championship after defeating Independiente Medellín by the slightest difference.
Santa Fe got a valuable point in his visit to Montería. Harold Rivera’s team drew 1-1 with Jaguares and is third in the standings.
The bad:
Millionaires still cannot win in the League. The ambassador team tied again at home, and after the 0-0 with Águilas Doradas they were on the verge of elimination. The blue box has only won one match in the competition, registering 8 draws and four defeats. It does not come out of the crisis.
Independiente Medellín lost again and this time it was against Boyacá Chicó at the Independencia Stadium 1-0.
Once Caldas was defeated 0-2 on their visit to Bogotá and their place in the lot of eight was compromised.
The ugly:
Arbitration decisions continue to affect Colombian teams. Millonarios were not awarded a penalty in the last minute of the game, after a foul in the area that Juan Camilo Salazar received; the same happened with Independiente Santa Fe after a hand in the area of a Jaguares player that was not sanctioned.
The situation of Cúcuta Deportivo: the mismanagement of President José Augusto Cadena has the motilón team without a stadium, nor an adequate squad to face the tournament, the players are not receiving their payments on time and they have terrible working conditions.
