The two people who lost their lives were identified as Manuel Castaño Quinchía, approximately 60 years old, and his nephew Juan Diego Cano Castaño, 7 years old.
On the other hand, the three people who were injured and transferred to hospitals were Yebrail Salcedo Guerrero, 44 years old, a driver who was passing by on the road; Blanca Nubia Castaño, 53 years old and mother of the deceased minor, and her mother Blanca Quinchía, approximately 70 years old.

According to risk management agencies, the emergency was overcome and work is being done on blocking the road, however, there is still no opening time.
On December 8, the Municipal Risk Management Council of San Luis had given an evacuation order to the families of this sector, since a smaller landslide had already occurred that had destroyed a home.
This event, which is generated by the heavy rains in recent days, leaves six homes destroyed, twelve families affected, and two vehicles trapped.
For its part, Invías recommended that travelers take alternate routes, especially the one that leads to Puerto Berrío, from Medellín, passing through Cisneros.

There is still risk
In agreement with the risk management agencies, the probability of a new landslide occurring in the area is evaluated.
“We are doing some overflights with drones, together with Invías personnel, where we show that there is still a risk, some cracks are seen, but we have to make a more detailed analysis of the situation,” explained the director of Dagran.
Regarding the road, he pointed out that the material continues to be removed and that, to make way, an overflight in the area is pending, with technical personnel to assess the risk.
