Kelly Andrea Eslava will reveal what she knows about a corruption network in the Cundinamarca Court

Lawyer Kelly Andrea Esalva reached an agreement with the Prosecutor’s Office to reveal the truth about eight investigations related to an alleged sale of judgments within the Administrative Court of Cundinamarca.

This is a judicial corruption scandal that broke out at the end of 2019 with the capture of the jurist, together with the magistrate of that judicial body Carlos Alberto Vargas Bautista and Aldemar Vargas González because, supposedly between June 2012 and 2017 they would have directed judicial processes inside the court in exchange for gifts.

According to El Espectador, Eslava will receive benefits in her process and would no longer be tried for the crime of bribery, but in exchange she will have to tell the courts about the participation of at least eight people who would be involved in this corruption network.

The people against whom Kelly Andrea Eslava must testify are former magistrate Carlos Alberto Vargas Bautista himself as a witness, as well as the former magistrate of the Disciplinary Chamber of the Angelino Lizcano Judiciary.

The former official also promised to testify in the processes against individuals Alonso Ospina, Jorge Cortés, Lautaro Alberto López, William Rojas Mazo, Mario Huertas Cotes and Fernando Góngora.

For these facts, a prosecutor delegated to the Supreme Court of Justice charged former magistrate Vargas Bautista with the crimes of prevaricate by action and omission and, own bribery. Today, the former magistrate is in custody.
