The magistrates of the Disciplinary Chamber of the Judiciary, Julia Emma Garzón and Pedro Sanabria presented a letter of resignation from their positions before the Congress of the republic.
The communication was filed with the Senate and the House of Representatives one month after the Constitutional Court ruled a tutela eliminating the Disciplinary Chamber of the Council of the Judiciary and ordering its replacement with the new National Commission for Judicial Discipline.

“We are telling Congress, which was our nominator, to choose between now and December or make the decision they consider,” added the still magistrate of the Disciplinary Chamber.

Both Sanabria and Garzón remain waiting for the Senate and the Chamber to respond to them and tell them if they should leave immediately or can wait for the new National Judicial Discipline Commission to be formed, for which the Constitutional Court set the month of December.
