COVID-19 continues to do its thing among Colombian families, this time it has taken on a new life within the relatives of the Vallenato singer, Silvestre Dangond. This is his father-in-law, Jorge Avendaño, who a few days ago had entered the Porto Azul clinic, in Barranquilla, after being affected by the dangerous virus.

The father of Silvestre’s wife, Pierina Avendaño, fought for his life until this Saturday when he took his last breath. The interpreter of ‘Las locuras mías’ has not commented on the matter, however, relatives say that he has been aware of the whole situation and accompanying his beloved ‘Pieri’ in this difficult moment.

Avendaño was married to Magaly Calderón, sister of the journalist, Patricia Calderón. “It is important to stay home and continue to wash your hands, use alcohol, wear a mask. The news almost does not talk about the covid as in the beginning and people have taken confidence in it, it has lost respect for the virus. They do not take protective measures ”, were the words that Silvestre had given as a Christmas message for all his followers.
