The defense of the patrol officers Juan Camilo Lloreda and Harby Damián Rodríguez Díaz, investigated for the death of Javier Ordóñez, assured City TV that they will not accept the charges of aggravated homicide and torture that the Prosecutor’s Office will impute to them.
Lloreda turned himself in at dawn this Friday, in the town of Engativá. His partner had already been captured at his home, located in Bosa.
“The Office of the Attorney General of the Nation will present them before a guarantee control judge and will charge them with the crimes of torture and aggravated homicide. Likewise, it will request an assurance measure in a prison center,” assured the attorney general, Francisco Barbosa.

However, the charges would not be accepted by those appointed.
“The presumption of innocence is constitutional and my client is not willing to accept his charges,” assured the defense attorney for the patrolman Rodríguez, John Olmos. He said they are also collecting evidence for the defense of the uniformed.
“We are not going to accept charges. There is the presumption of innocence (…). This is not evidence until it is debated in court,” added Jesús Libadier, lawyer for the patrolman Lloreda, adding “Juan Camilo has not been a fugitive from justice has always been ready to present itself “. This in reference to the operation that led to his capture this morning.
According to sources from the Prosecutor’s Office, the hearings to legalize the capture and indictment of charges against the patrollers will be held in the afternoon in the Paloquemao courts.
