This newspaper learned that the diligence that was taking place this Tuesday and in which the Prosecutor’s Office was going to present the preliminary agreement had to be suspended due to damage to the electricity service. And it was rescheduled for next April 6.

At the hearing, the victim’s representative can oppose the negotiation.

However, lawyer Vadhir Gómez, who represents the victim’s family, indicated that they participated in the process to reach the preliminary agreement and that they were in agreement with what was defined there.

He indicated that the Prosecutor’s Office made it clear that it would not advance in this negotiation without the participation of the victims.

“What we hope is that the hearing can be held and the judge endorses the agreement so that it remains firm,” said the lawyer.

The uniformed man would pay a sentence of 20 years in prison, if the preliminary agreement is final.

The judge in the case considered that the Prosecutor’s Office should withdraw the accusation against the defendant and then present the preliminary agreement to be able to advance in its process.

The engineer was a victim of police abuse after hanging out with some friends.
