The humiliating win that the Colombian National Team received in Ecuador left fractures and many rumors. Last November 18th, the journalist Javier Hernández Bonnet revealed that, according to sources within the selected team itself, a fight would have further fractured the relationship between the players.

The journalist assured in his Blu Radio program, Blog Deportivo that he did a serious investigative work in which he learned of an episode of fist fighting in the locker room.

“There are groups facing each other within the National Team. There were episodes whose protagonists managed to fall apart within the Colombian national team “, the journalist insisted on the station.

Well, on Thursday afternoon the steering wheel of the coffee squad issued a statement through its Twitter account:

“I disclaim all kinds of alleged information alluding to mistreatment, aggression, disputes or all kinds of controversy raised between players and in which I am mentioned as the protagonist.”

As Hernández assured about the fights, “The fact is recognized, but not the names. There was a player who stamped another, both of international level in this double round of the Qualifiers ”.

But in La Luciérnaga de Caracol Radio, the journalist María Alejandra Villamizar gave more information about the fight, based on information provided by a source within the team.

According to the journalist, the fight did not take place in Ecuador but in Barranquilla and had been between James Rodríguez and Jefferson Lerma.

“They had already fought in Barranquilla. James in Barranquilla had caught up with Lerma and Dávinson Sánchez. When Queiroz scolded them, they told him: ‘We give up and don’t bother’, more or less “, assured the journalist in the first part of her speech.

James Rodríguez stated: “Both in the dressing room and personally, I maintain excellent and respectful relationships with my colleagues from the Colombian National Team.”

And he also denied the accusations of the different Colombian media:

“I need to clear up all kinds of doubts about what harmony and the atmosphere in the dressing room represent, which although it is affected from the emotional point of view, has never happened to conflict between us.”

After the shameful defeat, the main soccer analysts in the country came out to try to explain what happened to the eleventh tricolor.

According to the sports journalist Carlos Antonio Vélez, a large part of the blame lies with the players of the Colombian National Team, because “the handbrake was noticed” and he also said: “Let the coach go, but not alone” .

The analyst considered that the win is not normal and is suspicious and rare. He assured that the Colombian eleventh is full of players from small teams.

“We are full of players from small teams and that’s how they behave. Without hierarchy or category. Losing by a landslide and hugging the rival? ”, The journalist trilled. For Vélez, the blame is also on the past trial of José Pékerman, ensuring that Colombia is condemned to “intermediate places.”

Those of us who want to win championships are condemned, not to beat the greats, celebrate intermediate places and qualify at the point of victories against the eliminated as in the last three qualifying rounds.

For his part, Iván Mejía wrote on his Twitter account about the defeat of Colombia, assuring that “Ecuador was a hurricane before a very poor Colombia” and said that the national team was “confused on the bench and denatured, without a soul and without a game in court”.

He insisted that the Portuguese helmsman could stop being the coach very soon assuring that “Queiroz does not light candles in December.”

The journalist also said that it is an institutional crisis and a “withered process” that was seen in Ecuador.
