Iván Duque announces new coronavirus testing cycle

President Iván Duque visited the Virology laboratory of the National Institute of Health together with the director of the institution, Marta Ospina; and the Minister of Health, Fernando Ruiz. In the middle of the tour, confirmed that with the arrival of two robots, they are expected to increase the amount of tests that are made of COVID-19 in Colombia.

As he explained, the goal is to reach one million 200,000 tests in this quarter, also thanks to the growth of public and private laboratories in Colombia, which that allows you to increase the number you have daily.

“We started a new cycle, a cycle of having many more tests starting this week in the country, we have a goal and that is that we want to reach a million 200,000 samples“Duque said.

“We made an inspection of the Virology Laboratory of the National Institute of Health of how the work of the different laboratories is being done and I want to highlight the arrival of two accelerator robots for taking tests that came from the United States“he assured.

For its part, the director of the National Institute of Health Marta Ospina assured that, in addition to the arrival of these two robots, it has been essential to have the reagents to do the tests and thus fulfill the agreed goal.
