For another 15 days, the people of Cartagena will have to adjust their departures to carry out errands to the rotation of the peak and ID, but this time, it will depend if the last digit of their identity document number is even or odd.
This was established in Decree 1057 of September 15, 2020, which sets the measures that will govern during the new phase of selective isolation.
Starting tomorrow, September 16, free movement will be allowed for citizens whose last digit of their identity card is an even number, and the next day it will be for odd numbers. The sequence will be repeated until next September 30.
Although the measure becomes official today, since yesterday this possibility was known and it generated divided opinions among Cartagena.
“Already the peak and ID was raised in almost all of Colombia, until when are we going to have to endure improvisations, please, it is time that we Cartagena have the right to go out every day to be able to seek our daily sustenance,” commented a reader .
“What a good decision from the Mayor’s Office. You must follow the peak and ID. There are many people at parties, drinking, in the streets like nothing. That is why the Covid is increasing, ”said another reader.
“It is the best the Mayor’s Office can do. Commerce needs to revive and businesses are not hitting just double digits a day. Whoever wants to go out and take care of themselves should do so, ”said another citizen.
This is the first time that this type of rotation has been applied in the city, since since the beginning of the pandemic the output of two and even five digits has been allowed, and for a time it was divided between women and men.
Exceptions
This new decree will continue with the same exceptions established from September 1, that is, travelers, tourists or foreigners, who have the document, reservation or ticket that demonstrate their entry into the city, will be able to circulate without taking into account the peak and ID. the city.
In the same way, those who have a reservation in a commercial establishment, are going to leave the city or work in the permitted activities (previous accreditation).
It should be noted that in this new phase the hours of attention to the public for stores and commercial activities are extended from 6:00 am to 12 at night.
Attending religious services and engaging in outdoor physical activities are also not subject to this measure.
In addition to the continuity of the peak and ID, the Mayor of Cartagena also decided to continue with the other restrictions, such as the provision of table service in restaurants, bars, and sale of liquor in places that do not have outdoor spaces.
Activities in the insular zone are also prohibited, such as hotel service and passenger disembarkation, as well as staying on any beach in the District and bathers entering the sea.
In the same way, amateur sports activities and public entry to activities in sports, artistic and cultural venues are restricted.
