“Es Trabajo Local” is the District’s new initiative to support informal vendors and other vulnerable populations. The program offers temporary employment to youth, women and people over 50 years of age. Learn how to apply.

In order to boost the economy and increase employment in the city, the District has opened the call for the “It’s Local Work” program, which offers 6,700 jobs to youth, women and people over 50 years of age. Do you want to participate? Here we tell you what to do.

The strategy offers jobs in 15 of the 20 towns: Usaquén, Santa Fe, San Cristóbal, Usme, Bosa, Kennedy, Fontibón, Engativá, Suba, Los Mártires, Antonio Nariño, Puente Aranda, Rafael Uribe Uribe, Ciudad Bolívar and Sumapaz.

The employment options are found on this website http://bogotalocal.gov.co/trabajolocal.html in which there are local and district projects that have to do with the work of caretakers of public space, environmental guides, maintenance workers of local road network, social workers and crew monitors. The salary varies between 1 SMMLV or 1.5 SMMLV.

People who want to apply must meet the following requirements:

* Comply with the position profile of the vacancy for which you are applying

* Reside in one of the participating localities and prove it through the residence certificate issued by the Local Mayor’s Office.

* If you are an informal vendor in the locality, you must be accredited with a certificate of registration as an informal vendor in the Missionary Tool of the Institute for Social Economy (HEMI).

* Enter your data in the online registration form available on the Bogotá City Hall website.

What documents must you deliver?

To formalize the application, you must deliver a residence certificate issued by the Local Mayor’s Office or a receipt for home public service (with less than 2 months of validity). Also, in the case of informal vendors, a certificate of registration as an informal vendor must be submitted at the Hemi. These documents must be delivered in PDF format.

After making the application, a Compensar advisor will contact the registrants to formally register the resume and evaluate if the applicant is suitable for the position to which it applies. If selected, they will be hired through a 3-month employment contract, through a temporary service company.
