With increased rainfall, the fissures became a crack approximately three meters wide and nine meters deep, so there is a risk that this material falls on the road.

The official explained that to continue with the contingency plan for the stabilization of the land, the detachment of that block of land is necessary, which could occur in a controlled or natural way.

“The solution to this problem is to unload all the material that was loose at the top of the mountain and this can be done in a controlled way generating an access, which we are already anticipating. The second thing is that it is carried out naturally, due to the high rains in the sector, ”said Gil.

Given the risk situation, the circulation of private vehicles was restricted on the road that connects Tolima and Quindío, and traffic to one lane for cargo and passenger vehicles was maintained. Until next Wednesday The corridor section will be completely closed, from 6:00 in the morning to 6:00 in the afternoon.

Invías clarified that the situation It occurs in one of the short tunnels, located more than three kilometers from the La Línea Tunnel, towards the municipality of Cajamarca. In this area, the construction of the second road was in progress.
