This Tuesday, the Minister of Transportation Angela María Orozco announced that the reactivation of commercial international flights officially begins on September 19: it will be a flight from Fort Lauderdale (USA), which will arrive in Cartagena.
“As of September 19 in the city of Cartagena, international flights of origin and destination will be restored and as of September 21, a gradual reactivation will be carried out in four airports in the country,” Orozco said.

The Minister of Transportation pointed out that, in Colombia, the Alfonso Bonilla Aragón airports in Cali; El Dorado, from Bogotá; Jose Maria Cordova, from Rionegro (Antioquia) and Rafael Nuñez, from Cartagena, will reactivate their operation for international flights.

The head of the Transportation portfolio said that from September 21 commercial flights to the United States, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Brazil, Ecuador, Bolivia and Guatemala will be restored.

Orozco said that “they are evaluating new destinations to the extent that opening conditions and borders allow, but that is a gradual process,” he emphasized.
This reactivation, he added, is based on three criteria: the level of openness in other countries, the operating capacity of airports “with due compliance with biosecurity protocols” and the commercial interest of the airlines.

– Passenger access to the airport will be a maximum of three hours before the scheduled departure of the flight.
– The use of the mask is mandatory from the entrance of the airport, during the trip and on arrival, regardless of the duration of the trip.
– For short flights it is recommended not to use the aircraft toilets and for medium and long flights it is recommended to wear multiple masks to replace them during the journey.
– Passengers must stay in the assigned chair throughout the flight.
– When entering or leaving the country, passengers must fill out, prior to entering the immigration control posts, the Check-Mig pre-registration, on the Colombia Migration page, it must be completed from 24 to 1 hour before the trip.
– Upon arrival in Colombia, the maximum capacity of carousels will be enabled to collect luggage.
