The Indigenous Minga of Cauca arrived in Cali on October 12 and settled in the El Pueblo coliseum, where they indicated that they will wait for three days for President Iván Duque to hold a debate with them. However, the demands of the Minga did not have the response of the President of the Republic but of the Minister of the Interior, Alicia Arango Olmos, who traveled to the capital of Valle del Cauca to hear them.
The leaders of the minga warned that if the head of state does not meet with them and listen to them, they will travel to Bogotá.

In a statement, the Ministry of the Interior, headed by Alicia Arango, said: “On behalf of the National Government we want to give greetings to the Indigenous Minga and the Colombians. At this moment a delegation from the high government travels to attend the Southwest Indigenous Minga“said the head of the political portfolio.
Minister Arango Olmos affirmed that “the Government always stands up, it has fulfilled the commitments acquired in the Minga of this government and past governments. I invite you to review the agreements that have been fulfilled and the progress we have as a government. From there we will be giving information to the country about the results of this conversation “.

Some delegates from the Cauca Regional Indigenous Council (CRIC) were present at the Cali Cultural Center to find out if President Duque would visit them, but given the refusal of the presence of the head of state, the indigenous attendees decided to get up from the table.
For its part, the National Government delegation that attended the meeting with the Minga regretted that the leaders of the CRIC were not present at the meeting.

The progress of the National Government in complying with the agreements is reiterated and recognized.
