About 7,000 indigenous people arrived in the city of Armenia, in the department of Quindío, who will have to move to Calarcá, where they were authorized to spend the night.
At 5:00 pm this Thursday, the minga was installed in the Plaza de Bolívar in the capital of Quindiana, where Several cultural events took place and several spokesmen also spoke.

However, the mayor of Armenia had expressed concern about the increase in coronavirus infections in the department and the arrival of the 7,000 indigenous people represents a risk for all citizens.
Some of the spokesmen of the minga stated that in the face of covid-19, they are prepared thanks to their drinks and the plants with which they have made some medicinal products to combat the virus.
On foot and in buses, the mobilization has been taken to the capital of the country to protest against the economic and social policy of the Government and demand a meeting with President Iván Duque to agree on actions to end the violence.
The indigenous people, who left the city of Cali, they will arrive in Bogotá on Monday and on Wednesday they will join a national day of protest convened by unions, students and other social organizations.
Despite the fact that Duque sent a commission made up of ministers and officials to Cali, the indigenous leaders did not accept a meeting and insisted that they would only meet with the president to discuss “government to government.”

The Minister of the Interior, Alicia Arango, said this week in Cali that the Government remains open to dialogue with indigenous people, although the protest is not vindictive as on previous occasions, but rather political.
The official asked the protesters to avoid roadblocks and other actions that slow down the economic reactivation of the country, which is beginning to recover from the impact of a mandatory preventive isolation of more than five months decreed to contain the coronavirus pandemic.
