In the last hours, the unfortunate news of the death of a baby just 8 months old was known, who suffered a terrible accident on December 7, the day of the candles, in the Santo Domingo Savio neighborhood of Medellín.
The father of the little girl, who is a twin, said that on the day of the events they had been talking as a family with his wife, his 5-year-old daughter, his 2 and a half-year-old son and the 8-month-old twins. When the candles ran out, his wife began to organize the babies to put them to sleep and he stayed with the ‘older ones’.
He narrated that the two-year-old was excited about the candles and asked him to take him for more, so he left the house with the two little ones. However, before the boy’s emotion, he was ahead of him, so when he went after him, he closed the gate and forgot to put the pin.
For her part, the twins’ mother was organizing the water to bathe them and in a matter of seconds she realized that there was only one of the girls next to her. When he ran to find the other, he saw the little girl when she leaned against the fence and fell into the void.
The girls’ father reported that his partner threw himself to catch the baby, but could not take it.
The girl was helped and transferred to a medical center where they tried to do everything to save her life, however, she was diagnosed with brain death.
