For his part, the director of the National Police, General Óscar Atehortúa Duque, confirmed that the captured corresponds to the name of Catalina Escobar Camargo, who was in the Puente Aranda sector, in Bogotá.

He added that through the work carried out by Dijin, it was detected that the woman apprehended today entered Colombian territory through Arauca from Venezuela and it was possible to verify that she was in Caquetá and then went to Bogotá.

The capture of ‘Angie’ is the third blow to this armed group: in May of this year, Audiel Pinto Calderón, known as ‘Korea’, a member of the so-called General Staff of the ‘Second Marquetalia’, was captured in Puerto Carreño, Vichada.

Likewise, at the end of July 2020, Francisco Antonio Durango, known as ‘Ariel’ or ‘Frita’, another member of the GAO-r, was captured in the rural area of ​​Maicao, La Guajira.

For his part, the Defense Minister, Carlos Holmes Trujillo García, congratulated the authorities for the forceful blow to the organization that left the peace talks in 2019.
