A new murder in Bogotá in the Transmilenio system occurred this Tuesday, around 5 am, in the south of the city, near the Tunal shopping center.
The Police confirmed the identity of Don Wilfrido Murcia Naranjo, 54, who was inside the SITP bus, when he was intimidated by a man who, allegedly, wanted to steal it.
The authorities in Bogotá have few details about how the event occurred, so they offer a reward of 20 million pesos for those who give information and find the person responsible for the murder of Don Wilfrido.
“We are identifying what happened. The people who were traveling in this vehicle got off and left, we are looking for some of them to help us and provide information. In the same way, we are doing a camera scan “, detailed on Blu Radio the commander of the Bogotá Police, General Óscar Gómez Heredia.
The officer reported that the authorities already have the place where the criminal fled.
Man killed in a SITP
The death of Wilfrido Murcia Naranjo shows the insecurity of which Bogota citizens have been victims in recent months. A few weeks ago the city suffered the murder of Oswaldo Muñoz in a Transmilenio bus and now he faces a new episode.
Other details of Murcia’s death were revealed by General Gómez, who explained that the murderer got on the SITP to rob its passengers. The incident occurred on Carrera 24 with Calle 40, in the Quiroga neighborhood.
“It was not at the station, it was inside a local bus. This criminal intimidates this person who died to steal him, later the criminal fled to the east, ”said General Gómez, citing the testimony of the bus driver.
After the murder, Mayor Claudia López wrote on Twitter that the incident will be investigated. However, he did not provide details on measures that could be taken to prevent the continuation of murders against citizens in Bogotá’s most important mass system.
