The passage of tropical storm Iota through the Caribbean Sea wreaks havoc in Cartagena.
Due to flooding and landslides in much of the city, the Saber 11 tests that were scheduled to take place on November 14 and 15 were suspended.
Although the day was held in some schools this morning, the attendance of those summoned was not total. In Antonia Santos, for example, out of 200 cited, 37 were missing.
In this regard, the Secretary of Education of the District, Olga Acosta, said that, after taking stock of the effects on the city caused by the storm, she spoke with the director of the Colombian Institute for the Evaluation of Education, Icfes, Mónica Patricia Ospina Londoño, who authorized the cancellation of the same.
“In conversations with the director of Icfes, we gave her a report of the emergency caused in Cartagena by the storm and she has accepted our request to suspend the tests scheduled for this afternoon and this Sunday,” said Acosta Amel.
The official explained that only those who could not arrive on Saturday morning for the appointment should file the rescheduling request on the Icfes page.
To do this, they must make the request due to force majeure at https://atencionciudadano.icfes.gov.co/pqr/radicar.php. Subsequently, the Icfes platform will give you a filing for the application.
For its part, those cited for today and tomorrow afternoon, the Colombian Institute for the Evaluation of Education will reschedule them on a new date.
The Icfes reported that the Saber T&T Electronic Tests on site were also canceled this weekend.
PAE was suspended
The District Education Secretariat also announced that due to the situation the city is going through due to the rains, it suspended the delivery of the preparation rations at home for the School Food Plan (PAE), scheduled for this Saturday and Sunday.
“Once the new delivery schedule is defined, the entire targeted educational community will be informed,” said Alexandra Herrera, director of Educational Coverage at SED.
For today and tomorrow deliveries were scheduled in more than 12 educational venues, including those of Tierrabomba, La Boquilla, Villa Estrella, Mandela, among others.
