A herd of hyenas killed an elderly man in Zimbabwe, after entering his hut, pulling him out of bed and attacking him.
The victim was identified as Tendai Maseka, who was apparently asleep when the unfortunate event occurred Monday night, authorities said.
The media, such as CNN, specified that the attack took place in the rural area of Chirumanzu, central Zimbabwe.
Likewise, they indicated that Maseka’s body was incomplete, about 300 meters from the house, and that rangers are looking for the animals to sacrifice them.
Through Twitter, Tinashe Farawo, spokesperson for the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority, said that the old man lived alone and that “hyena traces and trailing marks” were found nearby.
An old man who was killed by a herd of hyenas in Chirumanzu (87 years old) was left alone. He was sleeping in a shack when the unfortunate incident occurred. They dragged him about 300 m, without the lower part of the body. Trawl marks and hyena tracks were visible.

The official added that the same herd would be responsible for recent attacks on livestock in the region.
