Among the most important points are a strict control at the entrance of the establishments, the temperature of the clients will be measured and the use of antibacterial gel and face mask will be required.

According to the newspaper La República, the protocol also includes the management of a minimum distance of 2 meters between the tables and printed menus will not be offered to try to prevent contagion.

Asobares explained to that same newspaper that the protocol was developed with an interdisciplinary team made up of health experts, architects and sanitation professionals. In addition, it would be implemented this year in bars, gastrobars, discos and live music establishments.

The protocol also includes spraying every week to disinfect the facility and cleaning every 3 hours.

This proposal will be announced in the coming days to President Iván Duque and aims to reactivate the sector, one of the most impacted by the coronavirus crisis in Colombia.

Iván Duque

For Duque, the coronavirus pandemic is won to the extent that one can begin to recover productive life with distance, with good hygiene policies and with best practices and protocols.

In that sense, says Duque, in the restaurant sector you can look for a reinvention of the business, just as other countries are doing.

“Restaurants in some places where they have begun to open productive lives have limited places, have structured better distances, have changed the use of tableware that was previously made of hard materials for disposable instruments,” explained the head of state in his TV program, this Sunday.

He also says that restaurants can redistribute tables so that there are greater distances and that reinvention will allow to recover productive activity and protect jobs.
