Homophobic attack on the mayor of Bogotá, Claudia López – Bogotá

When the mayor of Bogotá, Claudia López, was presenting this Saturday the progress of the implementation of the new bike path of Carrera Séptima, and other sustainable mobility measures, a man rebuked her, interrupting her presentation.

“In the name of Jesus Christ I rebuke you, you are teaching disrespectful things, if you want to become homosexual do it yourself, but do not teach our children”, the angry citizen yelled at him amid voices of rejection that asked to be removed.

Various personalities have come out to express their solidarity with the mayor and to describe as a homophobic and fanatic attack what happened during this public event.

“I reject the homophobic attack against Mayor Claudia López. It is incredible that such an attack happens in our city. We have to continue working to completely eradicate hatred and discrimination in Bogotá,” said Carlos Fernando Galán, president of the District Council.
