Hit a gang La Empresa, dedicated to micro-trafficking in several cities

An operation led by the Prosecutor’s Office ended with the capture of 26 alleged members of the criminal gang La Empresa, that the control of the drug business was disputed with blood and fire in various regions of the country.

“Criminals who were engaged in micro-trafficking in Bogotá, Medellín, Líbano, Tolima and in some municipalities of the department of Caldas,” said the Attorney General of the Nation, Francisco Barbosa.

But its main operation, according to the authorities, was focused on Bogotá, especially in the towns of Rafael Uribe, Usme, Chapinero and Mártires.

According to the investigators, leaders of the criminal organization they have ordered in the last two years the murder of 10 of its members who were engaged in the retail sale of narcotics and who defaulted on payments. The victims, it seems, were dismembered.

After several months of investigation and follow-ups, the operation that allowed the organization to be dismantled was carried out.

“In collaboration with the Prosecutor’s Office, the CTI and the National Police. A work of great dedication on the part of the National Army intelligence that facilitated, through a process of more than six months, this operational result, ”said General Luis Mauricio Ospina, commander of the Army’s Fifth Division.

In total they were 35 simultaneous raids in four cities of the country, that left 26 alleged criminals captured.

“These people will be charged in the next few hours for crimes of drug trafficking, homicide and at the same time adulteration of liquors,” added Barbosa.

During the raids, two firearms were seized, material for the exclusive use of military forces, thousands of doses of narcotics and cash.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, this gang also had 1,600 bottles of adulterated liquor ready for marketing.
