Miss Universe Colombia released the complete list of 32 contestants who will compete, from November 6 to 16, for the crown of the next Miss Colombia. However, the representative of the department of Córdoba has already left the race.
In a statement to public opinion, this Wednesday, October 14, the contest announced that “Miss Luisa Fernanda Urango León, registered to represent the department of Córdoba, was withdrawn from the competition after confirming that she submitted altered documentation proving that she was younger than her age ”.
According to the rules established by the beauty contest, Candidates cannot be under 18 years of age and cannot be over 28, before the date the contest begins. The organization reported that the actual age of the former participant “exceeds that established in article twenty-four of the Internal Regulations. It has been decided to withdraw from the competition in order to set a precedent ”.
The statement does not state whether someone else will take the place of Señorita Córdoba or whether, from now on, only 31 women will participate in the contest. The 1.77-meter-tall Cordovan woman is a business administrator at the University of Sinú and has stood out as a model on national catwalks and in 2016 she represented Córdoba in the National Tourism Kingdom.
