In the Fourth Criminal Court of the Bogotá Circuit, an appeal hearing will be held this Friday to the freedom granted to Álvaro Uribe, within the process that is being followed against him for alleged procedural fraud and bribery of witnesses.
Uribe, who had been deprived of his freedom in house arrest since August by decision of the Supreme Court, was released last October 10 by decision of a guarantee control judge in Bogotá.

The hearing this Friday will begin at 8:30 am, and in the diligence the judge will define whether or not to accept the appeal made in this process by the civil party – Senator Iván Cepeda, former prosecutor Eduardo Montealegre, and former vice prosecutor Jorge Fernando Perdomo- against the decision to lift the measure of home insurance that weighed against Uribe.
At the time, the judge who lifted Uribe’s domicile considered that there could not be an assurance measure in his case since there has been no charge. This is because, although while the case was in the Chamber of Instruction of the Supreme Court – before Uribe resigned from the Senate – an investigation was made, The stages that had been completed in the Court could not be equated with those that the Prosecutor’s Office must now perform.
