As it was known, the community of the sector alerted the Villa del Rosario Police of the presence of the armed men in this place, for which an officer led the operation and formed a group of at least fourteen uniformed men who surrounded the site to verify What was happening.
“The group was divided and a fence was made around the rice cooker to verify what was happening. When they (gunmen) saw us, they started shooting, so the exchange of shots began, ”recalled a judicial source close to the case.
As the shooting raged, the alleged criminals ran to the rear and jumped a mesh to flee the scene, leaving communication radios in the middle of the field.
The man who was killed insisted on attacking the policemen, despite being surrounded by uniformed men and continued firing his revolver, for which, in the reaction of the uniformed men, he received three bullet wounds in the neck, abdomen and face. that left him lifeless at the scene.
“The shooting was very strong, I ran to hide scared, because I felt the shots very close,” said one of the merchants from La Parada.
The inspection at the scene of the event and the removal of the body was in charge of the Technical Investigation Body (CTI) of the Prosecutor’s Office, to guarantee judicial transparency in the investigations.
As it became known, in addition to the revolver, the alleged member of the ‘Tren de Aragua’ who died had five cartridges in one of the pockets of his shorts.
One of the characteristics of this person is that he had several tattoos of letters, names and clowns in different parts of the body.
Colonel José Luis Palomino López, commander of the Metropolitan Police of Cúcuta, arrived at the scene and led the investigations.
