It is with deep sadness that this media must record the death of Carlos Humberto Hurtado Granada ´Pintadito´, which occurred this afternoon in the capital of Quindiana.
The experienced photojournalist had arrived at the emergency service of the La Sagrada Familia Clinic in the morning, in the company of his daughter Diana Carolina, with difficulty breathing and suspected of being a carrier of coronavirus.
The decision at the medical center, given the seriousness of the situation, was to sedate and intubate him and simultaneously activate the protocols to place him in an intensive care bed. Initially the possibility of admitting him to the Central Clinic of Quindío was opened, an ambulance was arranged for his transfer that even reached the hospital center but, due to the delicate state of health of Pintadito and the equipment of those who at that time He depended to keep his vital signs stable, the option was to leave him in the Sagrada Familia.
In dialogue with this medium, Diana Carolina Hurtado, explained that since Tuesday, December 8, her father had taken shelter at home fearing that he was a carrier of the virus and that as the symptoms persisted, they requested the Carlos Humberto EPS test to detect Covid- 19, which, until this morning, Tuesday, had not been practiced. Already in the Sagrada Familia the antigen detection procedure was carried out, which confirmed that the photojournalist of the mayor’s office of Armenia had acquired the virus.
Pintadito begins this final journey amidst the immeasurable affection, admiration and respect of a city that he served with pleasure. With his human qualities and good work, he knew how to earn a good name, Pintadito only provokes fond memories.
His warm and pleasant smile, that hand always ready to help and the white mole on his left eyebrow were his mark.
