Government launches “Gifts for your home” strategy to promote the remodeling of Colombian homes

During President Ivan Duque’s daily program “Prevention and Action”, the president launched a new program to reactivate the economy, but this time in the construction sector. Through the “Gifts for your home” strategy, which will be carried out within the framework of the campaign Get up early for Christmas, Colombians will have the opportunity to access construction materials to remodel their homes with preferential interest rates.

The Minister of Housing, Jonathan Malagón, assured that starting a construction and remodeling program will activate almost $ 8 billion pesos in business and materials.

“The building sector is advancing at a good pace and we must continue to advance to maintain this trend. But there is a second element that is home remodeling, and this sub-sector has a great impact on the economy, it mobilizes almost $ 8 billion in business, and allows the hiring of 600,000 people. That is why we launched within the campaign Get up early for Christmas, Gifts for your home, a strategy so that this and next week we can access materials to remodel the house in preferential conditions, the idea is that the Christmas bonus is also for our homes ”, as the minister described the project.

In this regard, the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, José Manuel Restrepo, added: “We welcome these initiatives that integrate the construction sector to the reactivation effort at the end of the year … We have repeatedly said that the reactivation is a teamwork of all Colombians, and just as we have advanced in moving the national commerce and industry through ‘Get up early at Christmas and Buy what is ours’, we are convinced that everything that revolves around construction, from construction foremen to suppliers of all sizes, they also have a lot to contribute to this Commitment to Colombia ”.

The project will be divided into three axes,

Colombians will find preferential financing rates and greater agility in loan approvals. Those interested may speak with the bank of their choice and request to be part of the “Gifts for my home” initiative.

They have been defined by hardware stores and large chain stores. The idea is to offer Colombians promotions and discounts on products related to home remodeling and that have the “Gifts for my house” brand.

Those interested will be able to access packages and combos for the remodeling of the home, as well as facilities for the adjustments and labor for the remodeling and installations. In addition to credits with low interest rates.

Promotions will be available from November 23 to December 8.
