The couple was storing the truck in the garage of their home in the Colón neighborhood, along with their two daughters, when several men intercepted them to steal them, reported RCN News.
The outlet reported that two other cars and a motorcycle blocked the path of the truck and asked the driver and his family to get out.
Faced with the man’s refusal, the men first threatened to kidnap the girls, but in the middle of the discussion on public roads and when they saw that they could not take the truck “they decided to shoot to kill”, according to the journalist’s account.
Witnesses said they heard at least two shots and then the sound of a motorcycle fleeing the scene. One of the bullets hit the girl’s head, confirmed Major Danny Bobadilla, from the Puente Aranda Police Station, in the middle.
With the minor injury in the back seat, the parents rushed her to a medical center in the El Galán neighborhood, and then she was transferred to the Santa Clara Hospital, where at this time she remains hospitalized in an intensive care unit.
Hours after the case became known, Defense Minister Carlos Holmes Trujillo announced the investigation of the case:
Before the vile and cowardly fact in which alleged assailants in # Bogota seriously injured a minor, our @PoliceColombia activated a criminal investigation team and offered a reward of up to 20 million pesos for those responsible for this crime.

And from Guainía, where he made a tour in the last hours, the official insisted during the press conference in the reward for those who provide information that allows finding the whereabouts of criminals:
“The Police announced the offer of 20 million pesos as a reward to anyone who collaborates in identifying those responsible for this vile act, this cowardly act.”
In the responses to the minister’s publication, several people again complained about the actions of the mayor of Bogotá, Claudia López, together with her Secretary of Security and the Police of the capital to stop the wave of violence and insecurity in the city.
In addition to this fact, according to RCN News, the residents of Puente Aranda assured him that only half an hour earlier another robbery was recorded on a young woman who was walking through a nearby park.
