Gasperini and Muriel’s change: “I had a pain in my back”

Luis Fernando Muriel left the field of play at 45 minutes after feeling a discomfort in his back. The Colombian, who scored Atalanta’s first two goals in the 3-2 victory, was replaced by Gian Piero Gasperini for the start of the second half. In his place came Josip Ilicic.

In his post-match remarks in Bergamo, the Italian coach confirmed that Muriel felt something on his sword and as a precaution he removed it from the field. “Muriel had a physical problem, a back pain. It shouldn’t be anything serious.”Gasperini told the Italian press.
