The inhabitants of Usme experienced an unusual event this afternoon due to the strong winds that, accompanied by rain, caused several damages to homes and establishments. In this video you can see how the roof tiles of the houses fly aimlessly through the air, as well as other objects.
In this other recording it is evidenced that the street merchants of the sector were fighting to collect their products so that the wind would not carry them away. In the same way, passers-by sought shelter for fear that a large object would fall on them.

The Mayor of Usme reported that the gale affected 8 neighborhoods (Cortijo, Marichuela and Santa Librada, Uribe Uribe, San Juan, Brasilia, Santa Marta and the housing sector).
Likewise, the Gran Yomasa, Juan Bautista Barranquillita and La Andrea neighborhoods had problems with the electricity service. The Codensa company works to restore the service in its entirety.
In response, emergency protocols were activated and Idiger installed a Unified Command Post in the area to address the situation. The Special Administrative Unit of the Official Fire Department (UAECOB), on the other hand, removed 17 covers (roofs) that flew off. No injuries were reported.
