The funeral of Juliana Giraldo, the woman killed during an Army procedure in Miranda, Cauca, took place this Sunday in Jamundí, the municipality from which she was a native. The community, family and friends gathered from 2:00 pm
They went to the El Milagroso funeral home, located on Carrera 10 with Calle 13, wearing white garments to pay tribute and call for reconciliation.
His mother, Gloria Díaz, arrived from Spain on a humanitarian flight managed by the Foreign Ministry, the Defensoría, Equidad Mujer and Mayor Andrés Felipe Ramírez.
“I do not want to see any other mother go through the pain that I am going through. I hope that we do not continue to respond to hatred with more hatred, or with grudges,” he said in the middle of the act.

He also asked “Colombians, the Army, the Police, the Esmad, the authorities and the government, this country must be saved.”
He said Juliana’s life is a lesson in dreaming and persevering. “She always did what made her happy, her dream was to work as a hairdresser,” he said. She will be in the country for a few more days and will return to Spain, but she said she longs to live in Colombia again.
Juliana Giraldo’s death caused national commotion since last Thursday, when the news was known through social networks.
On that platform, her sentimental partner shared a video recorded moments after she was hit by a firearm in the middle of an Army procedure on the road that connects the municipalities of Miranda and Corinto.
The Prosecutor’s Office is conducting an investigation to determine the circumstances of the incident and the following day there was an act of reconciliation in which Juliana’s sister and the mother of the soldier involved participated.
