Four dead left an accident on the Pan-American highway, in rural area of ​​Rosas, Cauca

At least four people lost their lives in a traffic accident that occurred this Saturday morning on the Pan-American highway, at the height of the Pan de Azúcar village, jurisdiction of the municipality of Rosas, Cauca.

The tragic event occurred at kilometer 65 + 900 when a vehicle assigned to the Trans Timbío company that covered the Popayán – El Bordo route went off the road and overturned, for reasons that are the subject of investigation.

In the event, according to the authorities, another eight people were injured, of which half have already been discharged.

“Of the 12 passengers we have four already discharged, four more injured -three of them in critical condition and one under review- and four people dead,” said Captain Juan Carlos Gañán, captain of the Popayán Fire Department, to Caracol News.

The emergency was also attended by personnel from the Rosas, Timbío and El Bordo fire departments. The Traffic Police was in charge of carrying out the respective investigations and compiling the probative material to advance in the clarification of the causes of the accident.
