Former Transmilenio manager was robbed in Usaquén

Maria Consuelo Araújo, former foreign minister of Colombia and former manager of Transmilenio in the Mayor of Enrique Peñalosa, was robbed less than a month ago in the town of Usaquen by a gang of criminals who, apparently, had already assaulted several residents of the sector.

The former manager of Transmilenio assured that, after receiving the cell phone, the thief escaped along with his partner on a motorcycle. Araújo regretted that while the events occurred he did not receive help from anyone: “Everyone saw how they robbed me and, unfortunately, solidarity was conspicuous by its absence.”

Between January and September 2020, 59,557 complaints of theft from persons have been registered in Bogotá, according to data from the Secretary of Security. In Usaquén, for its part, the figure is 4,463.

Maria Consuelo Araújo was secretary of Social Integration of Bogotá from January 2016 to February 2018. At that time, the then mayor Enrique Peñalosa appointed her manager of Transmilenio, a position he held until December 31, 2019.
