The Truth Acknowledgment Chamber of the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP) called for a version to two retired generals and 11 members of the former Administrative Department of Security (DAS) for their possible participation or support to criminal structures responsible for multiple crimes against members of the Patriotic Union (UP) ..
Among those called to version are Generals Rito Alejo del Río, Iván Ramírez and the former Commander of the XX Intelligence Brigade, Jorge Eliécer Plazas Acevedo. Likewise, senior executives of the DAS were summoned in the 80s and 90s such as José Mansilla García, Emiro Rojas and Manuel Antonio Gonzalez Henríquez.
The Reconnaissance Chamber pointed out that it is making progress in clarifying the criminal apparatus responsible for multiple homicides of members of the Patriotic Union in the framework of case 06, which investigates the victimization suffered by members of this party, whose protection had been entrusted to the DAS.
Among the cases addressed by the magistrates who are handling case 06 is the murder of Bernardo Jaramillo Ossa, José Antequera, Jaime Pardo Leal, the Deputy of Antioquia Gabriel Santamaría, the mayor of Apartadó Diana Stella Cardona, among others.
The versions that will begin in February 2021, will have the assistance and representation of more than 150 already accredited victims.
The JEP said that these versions are also aimed at advancing the crimes committed against said political group in Magdalena Medio, Nordeste Antioqueño, Medellín, Urabá in the 1980s and 1990s, and more recently in the department of Tolima.
