One of the most complicated situations, according to councilor Heidy Sánchez is that the level of the Salitre river is rising. In his Twitter account, he assured that this is evidenced in two different points of the city:

In addition, he said that there are already effects in other neighborhoods:

However, that is not the only point affected. Noticias RCN released images from the north of Bogotá, in the El Virrey sector, where it is seen that the floods are causing difficulties for drivers to navigate the surrounding roads.

Other citizens report similar situations in other neighborhoods:

According to the District Institute for Risk Management and Climate Change (Idiger), since noon on Tuesday there have been rains in much of the city.

Inhabitants of the towns of Suba, Usaquén, Chapinero, La Candelaria, San Cristóbal, Usme, Ciudad Bolívar, Rafael Uribe, Puente Aranda, Teusaquillo, Fontibón, Barrios Unidos, Engativá and Kennedy are affected by winter, as shown in this graph.

Even in the town of Chapinero, the downpour caused a pole to fall on the public highway on a taxi at around 2:30 in the afternoon, on Circunvalar Avenue with 41st Street, in a north-south direction.

The emergency agencies did not report injuries in the incident, but traffic units and Idiger are already taking care of the situation.

The authorities advise drivers that “rain can reduce visibility and wet floors affect braking ability”, so they recommend caution on the roads.
