After long hours of knocking on the door and on the phone, relatives suspected that something was wrong and decided to notify the authorities.
When the police entered they found a heartbreaking scene. The 6 and 9-year-old children and their 72-year-old grandmother, in their bed; the mother of the under-39s on the couch and their 40-year-old dad, all lifeless.
“Each one of the spaces is entered, preliminary signs of violence are not observed. The criminal investigation section is carrying out all the corresponding urgent actions, ”said Colonel María Emma Caro Robles, commander of the Tunja Police.

For years, the family lived in the El Consuelo neighborhood, one of the most traditional in the capital of Boyacá. Neighbors reported seeing them on Saturday morning. According to the authorities, it was previously known that the father of the family was a teacher, the mother studied and was engaged in housework.
“We are attentive to other field work as it corresponds to gather different material elements of evidence to, jointly with the Attorney General’s Office, advance the entire protocol and everything that corresponds to the investigation and be able to establish exactly what was what it happened, ”added Colonel Caro.

The five bodies were transferred to the Forensic Medicine facilities to carry out the necessary procedures that reveal the causes of the death of the family. Government and Police authorities handle how hypothesis of the fact a poisoning caused by the father.
