Chilling stories made by the Prosecutor’s Office in the recent virtual hearing of the accusation against Mario Alberto Trujillo Bernal, who was accused of the murder of his girlfriend, a 20-year-old girl who was brutally beaten.
The case happened last June in a room in the Galán neighborhood, a popular area of Neiva, where the woman was subjected to mistreatment by this 20-year-old man, who days before had sworn ‘eternal love’ on social networks.
Trujillo Bernal is detained in a jail where he faces charges for the crime of aggravated femicide and his sentence could be more than 50 years in prison.
“We demand justice with a severe sentence, because he kidnapped and tortured her to death”, relatives of the victim indicated.

The victim’s story began last June, when she was locked in a room where her boyfriend kept her for three days during which he did not provide her with food or water. In addition, she was brutally punched and kicked and subsequently sexually abused.
Due to complaints from citizens who heard screams, she was rescued by members of the Ipanema CAI of the Neiva Police, who transferred her to the University Hospital, where she arrived with head and facial trauma, hemorrhages, multiple injuries and a pulmonary perforation, as a result of the Trujillo attacks. After two weeks of medical attention, the young woman died in mid-June in the hospital’s intensive care unit.
“He caused her greater suffering by beating her systematically and repeatedly taking advantage of her defenseless state”, said the Prosecutor’s Office in the accusation, adding that “it affected her without just cause.”
