The woman, who preferred not to reveal her face or identity for safety reasons, told the horror story she lived with several members of her family when they were taking a walk through the center of Bogotá, taking advantage of the fact that it was the weekend.
Everything happened, according to the woman, when they were crossing the back of the Nuestra Señora de La Peña church, and they took a street that is a descent because someone told them that they would come out onto the main road.
“Some gentlemen told me that there was a way out, and when we went down some stairs I saw a boy with characteristics of a consumer”, the complainant detailed.
The woman said on the station that although they did not know the area well, they still felt confident seeing families with children walking through the area, but that when they reached a kind of alley, the situation changed completely.
“We entered the alley and a few steps, about 10, there was a curve, and in a nearby house they told us not to go through there. We don’t know when we were surrounded … they were distressing scenes, “he added.
The victim only remembers that the criminals “were many young people” and that, due to their features and tone of voice, they were minors. Further, that there were also a couple of adolescent women with knives, and that others apparently carried firearms.
“The person who was pointing at me was wearing a mask, and he said to me: ‘Don’t look at me, don’t look at me. Look for the floor. ‘ That was like an ambush, because it seemed to us that each one had a weapon, “he said.
The complainant said that after the assault, the same criminals told them where they should take to get out of there, and assured that they were afraid of approaching the CAI of the Metropolitan Police, which is a couple of blocks away, and that is why they preferred to take a transportation and return home.
“One is shocked and does not know what to do, because the important thing was to safeguard the integrity of the family”, said.
The woman revealed that so far they have not made the complaint because the thieves, among the things that stole from them, have information about their family, and that is why she called the Police since it could be an organized gang that commits crimes in that area very frequented by tourists.
