The passing of a distant uncle from the COVID-19 coronavirus became a nightmare for a family who attended the funeral where they would say their last goodbye. The group reunion was deadly.

Last year, during the man’s funeral, which took place in a house in the municipality of Cuautitlán Izcalli, in Mexico, they were exposed to the virus and several ended up becoming infected.

“MEhe virus swept away, wiped out almost the entire family, they became ill and died. My 62-year-old mother was in bed, but she became serious and I had to take her to the Vicente Villada Hospital and she did not survive. I cremated her and have her remains in my house because I don’t even have time to go to the pantheon, ”José Martín Chávez Enríquez, 32, told the newspaper Milenio.

His mother’s departure after testing positive for COVID-19 was joined by that of his grandfather, several uncles and cousins. Total, the virus has claimed the lives of 16 people.

The man, who says that “thank God” he was one of the few who did not get infected during the funeral, owns a spa in Mexico and he has spent all his savings on doctors, oxygen and medicines for his own.

“I haven’t even had time to cry, I’m kind of stunned. My mom died the day beforeI still have my father sick at home and my sister has already managed to get ahead. I don’t know where I get the strength to move on”He commented.

Further, He left a deep reflection on the need to avoid exposing oneself to an invisible enemy that can cause a lot of damage.

“I agreed to the interview because I want all the people to know and see how important it is to take care of yourself and protect yourself from this disease”, He pointed out in the local media.
